Mrs. M. Heiberger Dies Thursday

Mrs. M. G. Heiberger, a lifelong resident of Grundy Center, died at her home last Thursday night. She had been in failing health for two years.

She was confined to her bed continually ten days prior to her death. She would have been 69 years old on her next birthday.

Funeral services were at nine o'clock Monday morning at Sacred Heart Catholic church in Grundy Center. The services were conducted by Fr. Wm. Holbu, resident pastor. Burial was by the side of the husband in the Grundy Center cemetery.

Mrs. Heiberger's maiden name was Emma Catherine Schneider. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob F. Schneider. She was a member of a family of ten children. She attended rural school at Fifteen Mile Grove. In June 1902 she and Matthew Heiberger were married. They began housekeeping in Grundy Center and that remained their home continually. Mr. Heiberger was engaged in the drug business in Grundy Center many years and his wife assisted him in the store management. Mr. Heiberger died October 29th, 1944.

Surviving are: one son, Leo, from Garwin, and two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Dean from St. Paul, and Helene at home of her mother. There are four surviving grandsons and four granddaughters. Other surviving members of her family are one brother, J. E. Schneider, St. Paul, and five sisters. The sisters are Mrs. James Mee, Centerville, So. Dak., Mrs. H. D. Matthews, Mrs. Frank Peck, Mrs. Anna Verley and Florence Snyder, all from St. Paul. Three sisters and one brother preceded her in death.

Roeder, Waterloo; Joe Heiberger, of Ryan; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Heiberger, Epworth; Della Hunter, LaPorte City; Mrs. Elmer Ford, of VanHorne; Mrs. James Mee of Centerville, S.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Heiberger, Garwin; Roy W. Verly, Mrs. Frank Peck, Mrs. Henry Sitters and Donald, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Peck and Patty, Mrs. J. E. Snyder and Bob, Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Dean, all of St. Paul.
