Wesley Kriz Services Held

Wesley A. Kriz, 71, of Conrad, passed away Friday, July 22, at the Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center of cancer.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 25, at 10 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Grundy Center, with Rev. John Kissling officiating. Burial followed at Sacred Heart Cemetery with military rites by Conrad American Post #681.

Pallbearers were Jerry Zehr, Robert Klein, Kevin Klein, Mike Adams, Herm Lemon and Jim Schlotfelt.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Wesley was born June 4, 1923, the son of Albert C. and Mary M. Zmolek Kriz in Clutier. He graduated from Clutier High School in 1940.

On May 6, 1947, he was united in marriage to Arlene B. Knoop at Clutier. He served in the Air Force-386 Bomb group as a bomber gunner in Europe during WWII.

He was a retired product repairman for Lennox Industries and was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and American Legion Post #681.

Survivors include 2 sons, Rick L. Kriz of Eldora and Randy A. Kriz of Grundy Center; 6 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Leona M. Adams and Gladine K. Lemon, both of Waterloo; and 1 brother, Robert V. Kriz of Dysart.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene, on September 28, 1988; a daughter-in-law; 1 brother; and 1 grandson.

Johnston Funeral Home, Conrad, was in charge of the arrangements.
