Margaret Connell Rites Thursday

Miss Margaret Connell, 88, a resident of the Beverly Manor Convalescent Center in Grundy Center since 1963, died at the Grundy Co. Memorial Hospital Monday, December 13.

Rosary was recited at the Ferree-Oltmann Funeral Home at 8 o'clock Wednesday evening. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 16 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Grundy Center. The Rev. W. P. Devine will be celebrant. Burial will be in the catholic cemetery in Grundy Ctr.

Pallbearers were Thomas Murphy, Joseph Hulne, Raymond Connell, Richard Connell, Robert Hulne and Russell Connell.

She was born June 1, 1883 in Tazewell County, Illinois, the daughter of Jeremiah and Bridget Cullinan Connell. At the age of eight, the Connell family moved to a farm southwest of Grundy Center. When her parents retired, they moved to Grundy Center. Miss Connell worked as clerk in several retail stores in Grundy Center, Waterloo and the Dubuque areas.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Mae Murphy of Waterloo and Sister Mary Carmelita of Ottumwa and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and four sisters.
