Rites Thursday For Daniel Catherwood

Services will be Thursday, Mar. 9 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic church for Daniel Lloyd Catherwood, age 70 , who passed away Tuesday, March 7, following a heart attack.

Rev. Fr. Maurice Tracy will be in charge of the services. Burial will be in Sacred Heart cemetery at Grundy Center.

Daniel Catherwood was born September 23, 1896 in Marville, Ireland. He came to the United States with his parents, Hugh and Mary Catherwood, at the age of ten. Death occurred suddenly Tuesday as he was on the street enroute to his home from town. The body was taken to the Ferree funeral home where funeral arrangements were made.

The deceased came to this country in 1906. He always lived in Grundy county and Grundy Center. He worked on farms in the area and at the Grundy Center Municipal Light and Power plant.

Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Catherine O'Bar of Linnwood, Calif., and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and four brothers.

A Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Ferree Funeral Home.
