Miss Lizzie Burke, 68, a resident of Waterloo for 25 years, died at 1:30 a.m. today at the home of her niece, Mrs. John F. Heath, 501 Oak avenue, after a week's illness of tumor.

Lizzie Burke was born Dec. 6, 1858, in Bridgeport, Conn., and came to Iowa with her parents when she was a small girl. The family settled on a farm in Grundy county, Miss Burke residing there until she came to Waterloo. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic church.

Surviving are a brother, Andrew Burke, New Haven, Conn., and the following nieces and nephews: Mrs. Heath, Mrs. Louis Schiel, 725 Vinton street; Mrs. A. J. Close, 605 Wyoming street; Andy Hasbrook, 1007 Wellington street; Frank Hasbrook, 213 Elm street; Mrs. C. E. Newville, Fairmont, Minn.; Richard Hasbrook, Mapleton, Minn.; Harry Burke, Hampton, Ia.

The body is at the O'Keefe & Towne mortuary pending funeral arrangements.

Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic church, Rev. Fr. Edward Slattery officiating. The body will be taken to Grundy Center for burial.
