Edmund W. Baker Buried At Grundy

Services were held Monday morning for Edmund W. Baker, 42, Belton, Mo., a former Conrad resident, from the Sacred Heart church in Grundy Center.

He died Saturday at Baptist Memorial hospital in Belton. Death was due to hepatitis.

Rev. Peter Bodensteiner officiated with burial in the Grundy Center cemetery. Bearers were Charles Long, Guy Aiken, Paul Franzenburg Jr., Richard Carnes, Wayne Smith and Cleo Poe.

Baker was born Jan. 7, 1921, at Conrad the son of Orin and Mary Ann Baker. He graduated from Conrad high school in 1939.

Survivors include his widow, Wilman; his father, a step-son, Thomas Boothe, Peoria, Ill., a brother, Orin B., Fond du Lac, Wis.

He was preceded in death by his mother, two brothers and a sister.

The Johnston Funeral Home at Conrad was in charge of arrangements.
