David P. Sells, 42, of Ankeny died of a heart ailment Friday, Oct. 11 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Services were held Monday, Oct. 14 at Ankeny Funeral Home with burial at Grundy Center Cemetery.

David was born December 10, 1960 in Grundy Center and had lived in Toledo before moving to Ankeny. He worked in the home equity department for Wells Fargo. He was an Army veteran and enjoyed gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Joi; a son Erik of Huber Heights, OH; two stepsons, Matt Clark of Norfolk, VA and Kirk Froisland of Fort Dodge; his father and stepmother, Paul and Carol Sells of Grundy Center; his mother and stepfather Margaret and Tom Thompson of Boulder, CO; a sister Pamela Sullivan of Northglen, CO; and his grandparents Paula and Louie Sells of Grundy Center and Doris Snyder of Wellsburg.
