Funeral Friday At Local Church For Mrs. Fritz Klunder

Funeral services for Mrs. Fritz Klunder were held Friday, July 25th at 1:30 p.m. at the American Lutheran Church in Grundy Center. Burial was at the Holland cemetery. Rev. P. Fred Houston officiated.

Mrs. Klunder died at the Storey Custodial Home in Grundy Center on Wednesday morning, July 23rd.

Her maiden name was Mareka Daniels. She was born on May 14, 1880, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harm Daniels. She came to Grundy County with her family as a young girl.

She was married to Fritz Klunder in June of 1901 at Wellsburg. They farmed in the Wellsburg area until 1931 when they moved to Holland. In 1947 they moved to Grundy Center. Mr. Klunder died on April 30, 1950.

Mrs. Klunder has been a resident of the Storey Custodial Home for 4 1/2 years.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ernest (Anna) Aunsbach of Waterloo; two sons, Harm and Daniel of Grundy Center, one brother Claus Daniels of Clear Lake, Iowa, two sisters, Mrs. Tina Riggles of Crystal Lake, Iowa, and Mrs. Sadie Rotschaffer, of Britt, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, six brothers and four sisters.

The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
