Last Rites Monday For Mrs. Frieling

Funeral services were held at Bethany Presbyterian church Monday morning at 10:30 for Mrs. Harm Frieling, 74, of Grundy Center. Mrs. Frieling passed away Thursday morning, September 14, at the Grundy County Memorial hospital where she had been a patient since suffering a stroke from a cerebral hemorrhage 12 days previously.

Rev. A. J. Straatmeyer officiated at the service. Burial was in the Pleasant Valley Reformed church cemetery. The Engelkes Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mary Peters, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Peters, was born February 1, 1893, in Colfax twp., Grundy county. She was married March 2, 1914, to Harm Frieling. They farmed in Pleasant Valley township, then later in Osceola county, returning to Grundy county where they farmed in Beaver township until moving to Grundy Center in 1935. Mrs. Frieling was a member of the Bethany Presbyterian church and an honorary member of the United Presbyterian Women.

Mrs. Frieling is survived by her husband, two daughters and three sons, Mrs. Arthur (Etta) Witte of State Center; Mrs. Henry (Anna) Wolff of Aplington; Meinhardt of Reinbeck, Ben of Melbourne, and Herman of Heggins, Pennsylvania; also 14 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; 4 brothers and 1 sister: Heit, Parkersburg; George, Greene; Jake, Cedar Falls; John of Dike and Miss Dena Peters of Grundy Center.
