Gerald D. Frier, 64, of Reinbeck, passed away December 26 at the VA Medical Center in Knoxville. Funeral services were December 29 at St. John Lutheran church in Reinbeck. Burial followed in the Reinbeck Cemetery. A memorial fund is being established.

Gerald Dean Frier was born on February 5, 1939, the son of Ernest and Arlene (Dinsdale) Frier. Gerald graduated from Reinbeck High School in 1957. Gerald served in the United States Army. On May 4, 1968, Gerald married Jeanine Zielske. Gerald worked for Plastronics in Grundy Center prior to spending 17 years as school custodian at Gladbrook-Reinbeck High School.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter; a son; four grandchildren; a sister; and a brother.
