August Steinmeyer Died Wednesday
August Steinmeyer died at 7 o'clock Wednesday morning at his home in Lincoln township. He had been in failing health the past five months due to cancer. He was 56 years old last November. News of his death will be received with deep regret. He had a wide acquaintance in the county and was held in high regard by all who knew him.
Resided on Same Farm All Of His Life
August Steinmeyer was a son of Mr. and Mrs. August Steinmeyer Sr. He was born on a Lincoln township farm and resided there all of his life. He was born Nov. 8, 1896.10 Children Survive
27 years ago August Steinmeyer and Grace Rosevink were married. They began housekeeping on the Steinmeyer farm and that was their home continually. They were the parents of eleven children, one of whom died in infancy.Immediate surviving members of his family are the wife, seven daughters and three sons. Names of the children are: August Jr., Mrs. Ferd Henze, Mrs. Paul Meyers, Joan, Barbara, Alice, James, Rosella and Wanda, all of Grundy county. Marvin is in the armed service and is in training at Fort Sill, Okla.
Other surviving members of his family are two grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Hiske Frerichs, Holland; his sisters, Mrs. Justena Meyer, Grundy Center; Mrs. Anna Junker, Aplington; Marie, Grundy Center; Mrs. Lamke Anderson, New York, and Martha, of Fort Dodge. One sister, Lena, preceded him in death.
Funeral Services Saturday
Funeral services will be at the home at 1 Saturday afternoon and at 1:30 at the American Lutheran church in Grundy Center. Rev. Burrack, former pastor of this church, will officiate at the service.
