Jacob Rozevink Dies Friday
Jacob Rozevink died last Friday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Herman Beenken, 5 1/2 miles northwest of Grundy Center, from old age and complications. He had been up and out in the yard in the forenoon but was overcome while he was in the yard and was helped into the house and put to bed. He was 84 years old.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the home and later at the Lutheran church in Holland. Rev. A. W. Malin officiated at the service. Burial was in the cemetery at Holland.
Mr. Rozevink was born in Bunde, Germany, October 14th, 1861. He was married in 1892. Five years later he and his wife came to America. They located on a farm near Cleves where they farmed several years, after which they moved to a farm near Hampton. His wife died in 1924. After the death of his wife he made his home with his three daughters. He was with the daughter at Alexandria, Iowa, two years, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. August Steinmeyer, 11 years. The past 8 years he made his home with the Beenken family.
There are 34 Grandchildren
Surviving are two sons and the three daughters. The sons are Jacob and William from Hampton. The daughters are Mrs. Herman Beenken, Mrs. Charles Rector from Alexandria and Mrs. August Steinmeyer. There are 34 grandchildren.--The Grundy Register (Grundy Center, Iowa), 11 October 1945, pg 12
