Services Held Tuesday For Aeilt Krull
Aeilt "Dagan" Krull, age 64, of Wellsburg, Iowa, passed away at his home in Wellsburg, Iowa, on Saturday morning, November 14, from an apparent heart attack.
Funeral services were held at St. Peters United Church of Christ, rural Wellsburg, Iowa, at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 17. Lay Pastor Ronald Fisher was the officiating clergyman.
Special music was provided by the duet of Mrs. Vivian Fisher and Mrs. Debra Fisher. They sang two selections, "How Great Thou Art" and "Under His Wings." They were accompanied by Mrs. Marilyn Uben, who also played the Prelude and the Postlude on the organ.
Casket bearers were Kenneth Cordes, Roger Krull, Roger Hippen, Vernon Penning, Gene Blythe and Frederick Vanderwerf.
Flower ladies were Mrs. Ann Penning and Mrs. Kathy Penning.
Ushers were Henry Feikes and Mark DeBoer.
Burial was in the church cemetery, with Military Rites conducted by the Wellsburg Amvets and American Legion.
The Doyen-Abels Funeral Home of Wellsburg was in charge of arrangements.
Aeilt "Dagan" Krull was born on April 5, 1923, at Wellsburg, Iowa, to John Sr. and Minnie Abbas Krull. He was one of nine children.
He married Edna Miller on March 27, 1948, at St. Peters United Church of Christ, Wellsburg, Iowa. To this union were born a daughter Vicki and a son Ricky Joe.
He attended school in Wellsburg. He entered the service in the U.S. Army in World War II and served in the European Theater. He was discharged from the service in December, 1945. He operated and worked in a service station until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of the Wellsburg Amvets and the American Legion in Eldora. He was a life member of the Amvets.
He was a member of St. Peters United Church of Christ, rural Wellsburg.
He is survived by his wife, Edna, his daughter Vicki, Mrs. Richard Newby of Eldora, Iowa, his son Ricky Joe and his wife Teresa of Ackley, Iowa, three grandchildren, Christa Lynn Newby and Scott Allen and Douglas John Krull, three brothers George of Grundy Center, Iowa, John and Alfred of Wellsburg, three sisters, Jane, Mrs. Russell Holcomb, of Eldora, Iowa, Mrs. Grace Trailer of Vallejo, CA, and Irene, Mrs. Charles Duhn of Algona, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Aeilt, in infancy, and Henry.
A memorial fund has been established by the family.
