George W. Boelman Rites At Ackley

George Walbert Boelman died at Park View Manor in Reinbeck, Iowa after a long illness on December 15, 1977, attained the age of 72 years, 7 months and 3 days. Funeral services were held Saturday at the United Methodist Church with burial in St. Peter's Church of Christ cemetery at Wellsburg.

George, son of Walbert and Johanna Lindaman Boelman, was born on May 12, 1905, in German Township, Grundy County, Iowa. On June 13, 1934 he was united in marriage with Helen Kiewiet at St. Peter's Church of Christ near Wellsburg. Following their marriage they farmed in Grundy and Hardin counties until they moved into Ackley where George worked at International Harvester until he retired. The last 2 1/2 years of his life were spent at Park View Manor in Reinbeck, after suffering several strokes.

George is survived by his wife, four daughters, Mrs. Jack (Caroline) Royer of Reinbeck, Mrs. Marjorie Warren of Ackley, Mrs. Carlton (Beverly) Wubbena of Byron, Calif., Mrs. Connie Stevens of Iowa Falls, and Steven of Marshalltown; also 15 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter. Also surviving are two brothers, Arnold of Morrison and Bill of Marshalltown, and sisters, Mrs. Tilie Miller of Ackley, Mrs. Fannie Williams of Ackley, Mrs. Hanna Finger of Ackley, Mrs. Janette Snittjer of Steamboat Rock, and Mrs. Bertha Meints of Ackley.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, one brother and two sisters.
