Mrs. Edd Finger Died Saturday

Mrs. Edd Finger died Saturday afternoon, March 24th, following a heart attack at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Meyer at Aplington, at the age of 80 years, 11 months and 6 days.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon, March 27th, at St. Peter's United Church of Christ with Pastor Ronald Fisher officiating. Interment was made in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Tillie Finger, daughter of George and Tillie Gruis Boelman, was born in Grundy county, Iowa on April 18, 1892. She received her education in the county school system. She was united in marriage on Sept. 20, 1915 with Edd Finger at the parsonage at St. Peter's Church. The family spent their entire working lifetime farming in the Aplington vicinity and retired to their home in Aplington 23 years ago. Mrs. Finger was a lifetime member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ and was a charter member of the Women's Guild of this church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; one son, George, while serving with the armed forces during World War II; three brothers and three sisters. Surviving are her husband, Edd, of Aplington; three daughters, Lillian (Mrs. Jake Kruger) of Parkersburg; Gladys (Mrs. Oscar Meyer) of Aplington and Matilda (Mrs. Allen Spieker) of Ackley; one son, Elwin of Aplington; 15 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; a twin sister, Mrs. Gertie Kuper of Ackley; two brothers, George Boelman of Ackley and Ben Boelman of Aplington and many other relatives.
