Meint Wubbena, 89, Dies in Hospital Saturday, June 27

Meint Wubbena passed away Saturday, June 27 at the Ellsworth Hospital in Iowa Falls at the age of 89 years. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the East Friesland Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Lee Feero. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mr. Wubbena, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wubbena, was born August 15, 1874, in Leer, Germany. He was married to Martha Janssen on April 6, 1896 and eight children were born to this marriage. The family came to the United States in 1922.

Mr. Wubbena was preceded in death by his wife; two half-brothers and three children.

Survivors include a half-brother, Nysko Boelman of Belmond; five children, Thedo (Mrs. Luppe) Feikes, Martha (Mrs. Cornelius) Rameyer, Fred Wubbena, Tena (Mrs. John) Van Hove of Iowa Falls and Nellie (Mrs. Jim) Van Hove of Ackley. There are also 24 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
