Rites Today For Elizabeth Santen
Funeral services will be held today, May 18, at 2 p.m. from the Presbyterian Church of Steamboat Rock for Miss Elizabeth Santen, a lifelong resident of Steamboat Rock who died Wednesday morning at the Eldora Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Arthur Nash, pastor, will officiate with burial in the East Friesland Cemetery northeast of Steamboat Rock. Pallbearers will be Roger Gast, Ed Frerichs, Claus Janssen, Harry Luiken, Kenneth Kramer and Henry Cramer with flower ladies Mrs. Ed Frerichs and Mrs. Kenneth Kramer. Vocals will be provided by Mrs. Orville Asher, Mrs. John Jaspers and Mrs. Herman Primus, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. George Potgeter. Arrangements are being handled by the Andrle-Creps Funeral Home of Eldora.
Elizabeth Santen was born June 27, 1885, the daughter of Harm and Vipke Wilts Santen, at Steamboat Rock. She was educated in a country school near Steamboat Rock and spent her entire life in that community. Miss Santen was a member of the Ladies Aid and attended services at the Presbyterian Church in Steamboat.
Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Reibke Freese of Steamboat Rock; one niece, Miss Phyllis Ruppelt of Steamboat Rock; and one nephew, Herman Richard Ruppelt, now in Israel.
