Obituary of Mrs. Louis Van Loh

Mrs. Louis Van Loh, nee Kate Lindaman, daughter of Jacob and Kate Greenfield Lindaman, was born on May 7, 1899, in German Township, Grundy County, Iowa. She grew to young womanhood in the parental home and attended the rural public school in her community.

On February 10, 1921, she was united in marriage with Louis Van Loh. Last February, she and her husband had the privilege of observing their 40th wedding anniversary. Together they lived on their farm in German Township until in 1947, when they retired from the farm and made their home in Wellsburg.

Mrs. Van Loh made public profession of her faith and joined the East Friesland Presbyterian Church, Ackley, Iowa, on May 15, 1921. She continued to be a faithful member and was keenly interested in the life and work of the Church.

Her departure from this life occurred very unexpectedly on Tuesday evening, April 4, 1961 at about 7:30 o'clock at the Grundy Center Hospital. In the forenoon on that day she underwent surgery after which her physical strength and resistance suddenly began to fade away. Everything possible, according to medical knowledge and skill, was done to revive her, but before the day was over she quietly passed from time to eternity. She attained the age of 61 years, 10 months and 23 days.

She is survived by her husband, Louis Van Loh; three sisters, Mrs. Martha Akkerman of Wellsburg, Mrs. Lena Van Loh and Nannie, Mrs. Peter Klinkenberg of Aplington; three brothers, Hie Lindaman and John J. Lindaman of Wellsburg, and Jake J. Lindaman of Ackley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Buskohl and a sister who died in infancy; three brothers, Ben, Henry and William.

Funeral services were held on Friday afternoon April 7, at 1:00 o'clock at the home and 1:30 at the East Friesland Presbyterian Church, Ackley. Rev. C. F. Siemsen officiating.

Mrs. Merlin Bangasser and Mrs. Leonard Oelmann sang "All Alone" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere", accompanied by Mrs. Fred Feikes at the organ.

Mrs. Claus W. Ross and Mrs. C. C. Graham were flower attendants. Floyd Meints and William Koop were ushers.

The pallbearers were John M. Van Loh, Arnold and Louis DeVries, Warren, Harold and Delbert J. Lindaman.
