Funeral Services For Charles Meints Held Saturday P.M.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the East Friesland Presbyterian Church for Charles Meints, who passed away early Thursday morning, November 16, in Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. The Rev. C. F. Siemsen officiated at the funeral, which followed prayer service at the family home in Ackley. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Mr. Meints was the son of the late Menno and Johanna Cobie Meints. He was born in Grundy County March 12, 1892, and grew to manhood in the parental home. On February 3, 1915, he and Lydia Noordman were united in marriage. They lived on their farm in Hardin county south of Ackley until a year ago when they retired from farming and moved into Ackley.

With his parents, Charles Meints attended the Sunday School and Church services of the East Friesland Church and in 1916 became a member of the church. He continued to be a faithful member until the time of his death.

Mr. Meints became ill about two weeks previous to his death and was taken to the hospital, where he died at the age of 69 years, 8 months and 3 days.

He is survived by his widow; his son and daughter-in-law, Melvin and Bertha Meints; a daughter Mary Jane, and a son, Floyd; one granddaughter, Betty; and a brother, Johannes, all of Ackley.

His parents, an infant sister and a grown sister, Flora, preceded him in death.
