Martin Rameyer, Sr., Former Resident of Area, Buried Monday

Services were held Monday afternoon at the East Friesland Presbyterian Church for Martin Rameyer, Sr., who died Wednesday, September 17, in Donna, Texas. Mr. Rameyer would have been 85 years old on September 28.

The Rev. C. F. Siemsen conducted the services, and the prayer service at Brandt's Funeral Home. Burial was in the East Friesland cemetery.

Mr. Rameyer was born in East Friesland, Germany, September 28, 1873. On December 5, 1896 he and Fenke Ulferts were united in marriage and in 1903 the family came to the United States to live. They made their home in Grundy County for five years then moved to his farm in Hardin county where he made his home until about eight years ago, when he moved to Donna, Texas.

Mr. Rameyer joined the East Friesland Church in 1921 and remained a member for the rest of his life.

He was preceded in death by his wife, in 1937; two small children, and his son Cornelius, in 1945.

Surviving him are his daughter, Mrs. George Folkerts, of Donna, Texas, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
