Services Held Mon. For Abe A. Jaspers Of Steamboat Rock

Abe A. Jaspers of Steamboat Rock died in the Eldora hospital at 8 o'clock Tuesday evening following a stroke suffered Monday night. He was 62 years old.

Mr. Jaspers was born on a farm near Steamboat Rock, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alle Jaspers. He had always lived on a farm until he and his wife moved in to Steamboat Rock seven years ago.

Formerly a member of the East Friesland Presbyterian church, Mr. Jaspers had belonged to the Steamboat Rock Presbyterian church after moving there.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Ivan, stationed in the Marshall Islands in the U.S. army, and Harold, who lives on the home farm; a daughter, Miss Marjorie Jaspers, who teaches in a mission school in Alexandria, Egypt; a sister, Mrs. Ernest Oelmann, of Ackley, and a brother, Okko, of Steamboat Rock.

Funeral services were held Monday at the Presbyterian Church in Steamboat Rock with the Rev. Kurt Marquardt, pastor of the church, and the Rev. C. F. Siemsen, pastor of the East Friesland Church, officiating. Burial was in the East Friesland cemetery.
