Services For Menno Harms To Be Today
Menno U. Harms, a lifelong resident of Hardin county, died on Monday, January 31.
He was born Dec. 21, 1886. On Feb. 17, 1909, he and Tena Mudderman were married and they made their home on a farm north of Cleves. They have always lived in that vicinity. Following his retirement from farming Mr. Harms worked as a carpenter.
He was a member of the Eastfriesland Presbyterian church.
Surviving are his widow; two sons, Obbie and Walter of Cleves; a daughter, Mrs. Clarence Vancel of Marshalltown; four grandchildren. A son, Edward, died in Germany during the World War II. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Grace, in 1918, and his only brother, John, who died last September in Eldora.
Services will be held this afternoon from his home at 1 p.m., and at 1:30 from the Eastfriesland Presbyterian church, with the Rev. C. S. Siemsen officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
