Mrs. Henry Gelder Died Monday At Iowa City Hospital

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon September 3, 1954 at 1:00 p.m. at the Reformed Church basement and at 1:30 p.m. in the church for Mrs. Henry Gelder. Interment will be made in the East Friesland Presbyterian Church cemetery.

Mrs. Henry Gelder passed away Monday evening, August 30, 1954 at 7:00 p.m. at the University hospital in Iowa City following surgery. She had gone to the hospital August 17th.

She was born Anna Smit on June 5, 1877 in Bunde, Germany. In 1901 she came to America. On June 17, 1903 she was united in holy wedlock with Henry Gelder. The couple lived in Hardin county for 20 years and in Wellsburg 34 years.

The deceased is survived by her husband and one son Dick of Rockwell. She was preceded in death by one son in infancy and a son, Kreno in 1932. Four brothers also preceded her, two in Germany and two in the United States.
