Funeral Services For John J. Beving Held Monday Afternoon

John J. Beving, the third oldest son of Jan and Margaret Sents Beving, was born March 6, 1881 in German Township. He was married on March 4, 1908 to Maggie Willems to which union was born six children, two of whom preceded the father in death. With the exception of several years his entire life was spent in German Township where he was engaged in farming.

Early this year he suffered a severe heart attack and was in failing health most of the year. Mr. and Mrs. Beving since 1911 were members of the Eastfriesland Presbyterian church where services were held Monday afternoon, Nov. 8, 1951 less than five months following the passing of his son George.

Rev. Calvin Siemsen officiated at the services and interment was in the church cemetery. Music was provided by Mrs. Henry Akkerman with Miss Anna Mae Oelman as accompanist. Flower attendants were Mrs. Martin Ross and Mrs. Henry Peters. Casket bearers were nephews of the deceased, Fredrick Beving, John M. Beving, Wendell Lindaman, Gerald Willems, Raymond Schultz, and George Willems.

Surviving are the deeply bereaved wife, two sons who are John of Cedar Rapids and LeRoy of Ackley; two daughters who survive are Margaret, Mrs. Elmer Rupe, of Cedar Rapids and Alyce, Mrs. Vinson Luwe, of Guam and 6 grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Rev. F. J. Beving of Rushmore, Minnesota, Aeilt of Ackley; also four sisters; Hattie, Mrs. John Flessner and Margaret, Mrs. John W. Lindaman both of Wellsburg, Mrs. Mary Behrends of Slayton, Minnesota, and Anna, Mrs. D. G. Arends of Ackley. Preceding the deceased in death were 1 brother Dick and two sisters, Mrs. Henry Geerdes and Mrs. John Flessner.
