Joseph Miller passed away last Monday at the Veterans hospital at Iowa City where he was confined for ten weeks. He died of a cerebral hemorrhage at the age of 45.

He was born March 17, 1922 on a farm in German township, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Miller. He grew up and lived in the community all of his life, attending Sunday School and church at the Westfriesland Presbyterian Church. He was engaged in farming with his parents until the time of his sickness and death except for three years spent in the services of his country in Europe from January 9, 1943 to Oct. 9. 1945.

Survivors are his parents; three sisters, Hazel (Mrs. Lewis) Jones of Murray, LaVonne (Mrs. Percy) Dorman of Cedar Falls, Myrna (Mrs. Melvin) Uhlenhopp of Muscatine; 7 nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at the Westfriesland Presbyterian Church. Rev. Kenneth Remer officiated. Music was given by a quartet, Mrs. Christ Ridder, Mrs. Wayne Neymeyer, John V. Janssen and John L. Meyer. Mrs. Gary Miller was organist. Flower attendants were Mrs. Delbert B. Lindaman and Mrs. Selby Jones. Pall bearers were Eldon Loots, Allen Spieker, Warren Lindaman, Harold Lindaman, Alvin Lindaman and Jake B. Lindaman.

Interment was made in the church cemetery.
