Fred Ackerman Dies In Shell R'k July 2, Rites in Aplington

Fred Ackerman, 76, brother of Mrs. Elizabeth Wiarda and Mrs. Rena Wiarda, both of Ackley, of Mayor Elmer Ackerman of Iowa Falls, died Tuesday afternoon, July 2, at a nursing home in Shell Rock.

Funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church of Aplington, his former home town, on Friday afternoon.

The Ackerman family was originally from Aplington. Surviving brothers and sisters are William of Earlham, Charles of LaPorte City, John and Ben, both of Allison, Elmer of Iowa Falls, Mrs. Elizabeth Wiarda and Mrs. Rena Wiarda of Ackley, Mrs. Clara Reiher of Allison, Mrs. Fred Best and Mrs. Fred Prohaska, both of Aplington.
