Carter Zwyers Dies at Home Sat., March 2

Funeral services for Carter P. Zwyers, who died at his home east of Ackley Saturday, March 2, were held at the West Friesland Presbyterian church Tuesday afternoon, following prayer service for the family at the Fritz Funeral Home. Interment was in the church cemetery. The Rev. Norman D. Flink conducted the services.

Carter Zwyers was born February 20, 1907, at Frankfort, Indiana, where he spent his early years and where he was baptized in the First Presbyterian church. At the age of 12 he moved with his mother to Eldora, where he attended school. He was a member of the Methodist Church in Eldora.

On March 15, 1939, he and Myrtle Groninga of Ackley were married.

Surviving Mr. Zwyers are his wife; his mother, Mrs. Ann Vannoy of Long Beach, California; two sons by a former marriage, Bernard Zwyers of Sacramento, Calif., and Jim Zwyers of the U.S. Air Force; a grandson, Stephen Carter Zwyers of Sacramento; and two stepdaughters, Mrs. Delbert Harken of Ackley and Mrs. Dick Sherman of Parkersburg.
