Seede J. Miller Buried August 8

Seede J. Miller died Sunday morning, August 5, at the Veterans Hospital in Iowa City after a long illness. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Miller and was born July 5, 1895.

He and Lena Alphs were married November 29, 1922 at the West Friesland Presbyterian church, of which he was a member. To this union, eight sons and one daughter were born. Mr. Miller lived most of his life on farms near Ackley and the nearby communities of New Hartford, Aplington and Austinville. In 1940 they moved into Ackley and Mr. Miller was employed by the M. and St. L. railroad up to the time his illness became serious in February, 1955.

Mr. Miller is survived by his wife; six sons, Lester, Alfred, Harry, Alvin and Floyd, all of Ackley and Arthur, who is stationed at Long Beach with the navy, four grandchildren, three brothers, Heye, Johannes and Arend and one sister, Mrs. Anna Geiken, all of Ackley. He was preceded in death by two sons, one daughter, his parents and three brothers.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, August 8, at the West Friesland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Norman Flink conducting. Burial was in the church cemetery.
