Mrs. William Miekley Funeral Services Held Saturday

Funeral services for Mrs. William Miekley, 82, who died at midnight Wednesday night, a week ago, were held last Saturday afternoon at St. John's Evangelical church, Rev. Frank C. Kroll, the pastor officiating. Interment was in Westfriesland Presbyterian church cemetery three miles southeast of Ackley.

Mrs. Miekley was born Martha Eden on July 11, 1862, in Grundy County where she grew to womanhood. She married William Miekley 46 years ago. They came to Ackley to make their home in 1900. Through many years Mr. and Mrs. Miekley lived on a farm in German township. Mr. Miekley died in 1912. Since that time, Mrs. Miekley had lived alone up to the time of her brief illness.

Mrs. Miekley will be greatly missed by many friends that she had in Ackley. She was always cheerful and felt a keen interest in those about her. Hers was a long and useful and helpful life.
