Mrs. Harm Kuper

Funeral services for Mrs. Harm Kuper who died at 7 a.m. Sunday last, following a week's illness of heart trouble and other ills, were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday from the home and at 1:45 p.m. at the West Friesland German Presbyterian church. Rev. Henry Johnson officiated.

Mrs. Kuper, born Antje Lauterbach, was born Oct. 20, 1858 in Wieblesum, Germany. She was united in marriage to Henry Geiken, April 25, 1881. Together they came to America, locating on a farm north of Ackley. Mr. Geiken died in 1900. On Nov. 24, 1904, she was married to Harm Kuper, who, with the children survive. They are Geike Geiken, Aplington; Mrs. Ida Reed, Mrs. Gertie Mietlestadt, Mrs. Minnie Fessler, Mrs. Dena Caine, Iowa Falls; Mrs. Kate Deters of Ackley. Mrs. Harmke Lieser and Edith Geiken preceded her in death.

Following named are stepchildren: Mrs. Ella Fessler, Kensington, Kansas; Folkert Kuper, John Kuper, Ackley, and Kasper Kuper of Hampton. There are two brothers, Bernard Lauterbach of Reinbeck, and Eite Lauterbach of Parkersburg; three sisters, Mrs. Harmke Schwade of Nora Springs, Iowa; Mrs. Hilke Habben of Renville, Minn., Mrs. Esterdena Smith, still living in Germany. There are 38 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. One brother Esterd Lauterbach died in 1922 following an accident.
