Carl A. Band Dies April 6th; Rites Friday P.M.

Funeral services will be held for Carl A. Band, at 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 8, at the Westfriesland Presbyterian church with Rev. Peter H. Eekhoff in charge. Interment will be in the Westfriesland cemetery beside his wife who preceded him in death.

Carl A. Band, 62, formerly of Ackley, died Wednesday morning at the home of his sister, Mrs. William Reinke, northwest of Ackley of a heart ailment and asthma.

He had been in a hospital at Wilmar Minn., and came to his sister's home Sunday.

He was born March 22, 1887, the son of William and Ernestine Band, in Ackley where he grew to manhood. He was married to Gertrude Siemers in 1917, who died in January, 1937. Following their marriage, they lived near Ackley later moving to Pennock, Minn. Mr. Band had been farming with his son, Lester.

Surviving are two sons, Rev. Willard Band, Blue Earth, Minn., and Lester Band, Pennock, Minn.; two grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. William Reinke, Ackley and Miss Minnie Band, 2517 Rainbow Drive, Cedar Falls, and one brother, August F. Band, Chicago, Ill.

A daughter also preceded him in death in 1924.
