Lori A. Matejka, 53, of Cedar Falls, Iowa died Sunday, March 13, 2016 at the Cedar Valley Hospice House in Cedar Falls, Iowa. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center, Iowa. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Grundy Center.

Lori Ann Malven, daughter of Richard and Karen Mandler Malven was born on July 3, 1962 in Waterloo, Iowa. She received her education at St. Edwards's Catholic School in Waterloo. In August of 1978, she married John V. Matejka at the St. Ansgar Lutheran Church in Waterloo. The couple later divorced. Lori had worked for several cleaning companies in the area until retiring, due to her failing health. She loved to crochet, needle point and paint ceramics.

Survivors include her parents, Vern and Karen Schoonover of Waterloo; daughters, Jessica (Jason) Burroughs of Grundy Center, Jennifer (Jeremy) Spear of Reinbeck; four grandchildren, Austin and Brittany Burroughs, Jadon and Jeryn Spear; sister, Debbie Winter of Waterloo; brothers, David Malven of Michigan and Scott Malven of Waterloo.

Lori was preceded in death by her father, Richard Malven and her maternal grandparents, Frank and Catherine Mandler.
