Leslie "Les" L. Muller, 61, of Steamboat Rock, formerly of Grundy Center, passed away at his home while under Care Initiatives Hospice. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 4th at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Grundy Center with Pastor Phil Dicks officiating. Memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, December 3rd from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center. Inurnment will follow the memorial service at the Rosehill Cemetery in Grundy Center. For those who don't wish to go to the cemetery, please feel free to help yourself to lunch, where the family will join you when they return. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family, where they will donate to a charity of their choice.

Les was born on November 15, 1954, in Grundy Center, Iowa, the son of Sievert & Lillian (DeLange) Muller. He attended school in Grundy Center, graduating from Grundy Center High School in 1973. After high school, he began his career at John Deere in Waterloo, retiring in June of 2008. On February 1, 1974, Les was united in marriage to Gaye Geerdes at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Grundy Center. The couple welcomed daughter Angie and son Jordan into their family.

He was an avid outdoorsman, where he enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Les enjoyed spending time with many close friends but his true joy in life came with spending time with his family, especially his 4 grandchildren.

Les is survived by his children Angie (Brent) Thoren of Grundy Center & Jordan (Jill) Muller of Reinbeck; grandchildren Lainy & Ryker Thoren and Julia & Evan Muller; sister-in-law Wendy Muller.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Gaye; brother Roger Muller.
