Tena Graves Services Held

Mrs. Katharina "Tena" Graves was born October 17, 1898 in Nortmoor, Ostfriesland, Germany, the daughter of Ernest and Stena (Jeten) Rabenberg. She passed away Thursday, December 12 at the Long Term Care Unit of Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center having attained the age of 93 years, 1 month and 25 days.

Mrs. Graves came to America in 1923 at the age of 24. She was united in marriage to Tom Graves on May 4, 1927 in Lincoln Township. They made their home on the Graves home farm south of Lincoln Center for eight years, then moved to Dike. Tena was a member of Lincoln Center Christian Reformed Church in rural Grundy Center and of the Ladies Aid.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Tom in 1969; three brothers; and two sisters.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Monday, December 16 at the Lincoln Center Christian Reformed Church in rural Grundy Center at 1:30 p.m. with burial in the church cemetery. Pastor Douglas H. Bratt officiated. Pallbearers were Dennis Graves, Laurence G. Graves, Willis Groenendyk, Lawrence R. Graves, Ron Neuberger, and Don Graves.

The Dike Funeral Chapel, Dike, was in charge of the professional arrangements.
