Carrie Wiltfang Services Held

Carrie K. Wiltfang of 708 Wemple, Parkersburg, was born the daughter of Harm and Fannie Kalkwarf Konken on July 7, 1887 at Beaver Township in Grundy County Iowa. She received her education at a rural Grundy County School.

On December 29, 1908 Carrie married Henry Wiltfang at the Pleasant Valley Reformed Church, in Grundy County. They lived on three different farms in the Grundy County area most of their lives until 1942 when they moved to Parkersburg.

Carrie spent the last 13 years at the Long Term Care Unit in the Grundy Center Hospital, Grundy Center. On November 12 she passed away at 7:45 p.m. reaching the age of 104 years, 4 months, and 5 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry on October 22, 1967; one daughter, Vera Andreessen in 1937; 4 sisters, and 4 brothers.

Carrie is survived by one son, Herman and his wife Vivian Wiltfang of Parkersburg; 1 sister Rena Bergman of Aplington; 8 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Friday, November 15 at 1:30 p.m. in the Reformed Church of Stout with Pastor Don Ringnalda officiating. Elaine Schnell played the organ and Judy Ringnalda was the soloist who sang "Nearer, Still Nearer" and "All The Way My Savior Leads Me". Congregational hymn was "Blessed Assurance". Those acting as casketbearers were Wayne Wiltfang, Dennis Wiltfang, Garyld Harms, Gaylen Harms, Nick Dix, and Alan Lien. Burial was in the Stout Cemetery, Stout.

Schwartz Funeral Home in Parkersburg was in charge of the arrangements.
