Wayne Strickler Services Held

Wayne R. Strickler, 77, passed away on July 25 at the Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center.

Funeral services were held on July 29 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Conrad with the Rev. James Snare officiating. Burial was in the Conrad Cemetery.

Music was by Robert and Monica Kruse, accompanied by Jackie Stevens. Flower bearers were Irmgard Kadner and Shirley Stanley.

Casket bearers were Jim Kadner, Ed Kadner, Dennis Hines, Dr. Paul Eberline, Eldon Stanley, and Max Stanley.

Wayne was born the son of Harvey and Kathryn Strickler on December 30, 1913. He graduated from Conrad High School in 1933.

Wayne was united in marriage to Linley Tompkins on August 26, 1936, at United Methodist parsonage, in Conrad.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Conrad, the Grundy County Farm Bureau, and was a farmer.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Linley Strickler; one daughter, Mrs. Charles (Cawren) Sobotka of Diagonal; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
