Johanna Miller Services Held

Johanna Miller, 80, passed away at Allen Memorial Hospital on July 8. She had suffered from Parkinson's disease for about six years.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 15, at the Reformed Church of Stout with Pastor Don Ringnalda officiating. Mrs. Elaine Schnell was the organist and Richard Schaefer sang "How Great Thou Art" and "One Day At A Time."

Casket bearers were Harold Rademaker, Harold Bergman, Bill Grimm, William Bergman, Roger Bergman, and John Peters.

Interment followed in the Stout Cemetery.

Johanna H. Miller of Parkersburg, was born the daughter of Jacob and Susie Meester Bergman on February 6, 1911, in Fairfield Township, Grundy Center. She attended rural school her first and second year and then attended the New Hartford school through the 9th grade.

On July 17, 1945, Johanna was united in marriage to Oscar Miller in the Parsonage of the Reformed Church of Stout. Their first 5 years of marriage they lived in Stout, and then moved to a farm near New Hartford, and in 1983 they moved to their present home. They have been active members of the Reformed Church of Stout.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 6 brothers, Jake, Joe, Hillerd, George, Andrew, and William Bergman; and 2 sisters, Martha Boelman and Henrietta Bergman.

Johanna is survived by her husband, Oscar Miller, Parkersburg; 2 sons and their wives, Alvin and Verla Miller, Parkersburg, and Rodney and Kathy Miller, Roselle, IL; 2 daughters, Lorraine Kuker, Omaha, NE, and Mavis and her husband, Bill Garbes, Dunkerton; 11 grandchildren; 3 sisters, Anna Nevenhoven, Parkersburg; Ella Dreesman, Cedar Falls, and Rose Pothast, Grundy Center; and 1 brother, Ted Bergman, Cedar Falls.

Schwartz-Engelkes Funeral Home in Parkersburg was in charge of arrangements.
