Services For Elaine Beach

Kathryn "Elaine" Beach, 75, of Grundy Center, passed away on Saturday, May 4, at Covenant Medical Center West Ninth, in Waterloo.

Services were held Wednesday, May 8, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Grundy Center at 10:30 a.m., with Father Everett Frese officiating.

Pallbearers were James Lynch, George Lang, William Fisher, Paul Buck, Dean Eslinger, and William Halbach.

Elaine, the daughter of Frank P. and Myrtle Hall Cannon, was born on November 23, 1915. She was educated in Oelwein, graduating from Sacred Heart Catholic School in 1934. After her graduation she was employed by J.C. Penney Co. in Oelwein.

On October 29, 1948, Elaine was united in marriage to Elmer G. Beach in Oelwein. The couple moved to Grundy Center where Elaine was employed by J.C. Penney Co., retiring in 1985.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Grundy Center, and a member of St. Martha's Circle.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Elmer who passed away in 1986.

Survivors include one son, Patrick Beach and his wife Sue of Corpus Christi, TX; one sister, Veronica "Bobby" Nixon of Waterloo, and two grandchildren.

A memorial fund has been established.

The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
