Services Held For Marvin Sanderson

Marvin E. Sanderson, 65, passed away Monday, January 21, at his home in Conrad.

Services were held at the Beaman United Methodist Church, on January 24, at 1:30 p.m., with the Rev. Robert Shreve officiating.

Casket bearers were Jerry, Kenny, Bobby, Ricky, Gary, and Denny Sanderson. Honorary casket bearers were Robert Zern, Darwin Vint, Dean Vint, Dean Sharp, Owen Rattray, and Tom Wilson.

Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery in Beaman, with Military Rites conducted by the Weatherman-Walter American Legion Post #131, of Beaman.

Marvin, the son of Ira A. and Daisy M. Sanderson, was born on September 16, 1925, in rural Beaman. He graduated from Beaman High School in 1947. He served in the Army during World War II, receiving the purple heart. He worked for Zern's Enterprises as a truck driver before retiring.

He was a member of Beaman United Methodist Church, and the Weatherman-Walter American Legion Post #131.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers.

He is survived by his six sons, Jerry, of Las Vegas, NV, Kenny, of Conrad, Bobby, of Beaman, Ricky, of Beaman, Gary of Berwin, IL, and Denny, of Conrad; four daughters, Barb, Mrs. Jim Croxdale, of Cedar Rapids, LeeAnn Switzer, of Conrad, Linda, Mrs. Curt Hoff, of Nevada, and Lori, Mrs. Bob Budziak, of Aurora, CO; three sisters, Avonelle Hertema, of Rogers, AR, Ruth, Mrs. John Glessner, of State Center, and Doris Stover, of Waterloo, and 17 grandchildren.

Johnston Funeral Home, in Conrad, was in charge of arrangements.
