Services Held For Milton Christiansen

Milton Christiansen, 77, formerly of Dike, passed away Wednesday, December 26, at the Lutheran Home in Cedar Falls.

Services were held Saturday, December 29, at 10 a.m., at Fredsville Evangelical Lutheran Church, in rural Cedar Falls, with Pastor Don Benson officiating.

Honorary casket bearers were LeeRoy Gerloff, Michael Schlamp, David Christiansen, James Bruhn, Rich Johnson and Steve Johnson.

Burial was in the Fredsville Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Milton, the son of Harry and Anna Rasmussen, grew up in rural Dike, and attended Dike Schools. He worked on his parents' farm, and other neighboring farms until his marriage.

He was united in marriage to Loretta Golliday on April 26, 1942, in Queen City, MO. Milton and Loretta lived in Cedar Falls where he was employed by Oleson Coal Company. In 1950, they returned to Dike where Milton was employed by the Farmers Cooperative Company. Milton retired in 1976.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Loretta; and two sisters.

Milton is survived by one daughter, Leanna, Mrs. Harold Bowers, of Reinbeck; one son James and his wife, Connie of Waseca, MN; one brother, Leslie, of New Hartford; one sister, Sylvia Schlamp, of New Hartford; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to the Fredsville Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Cedar Falls.

The Dike Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
