Thelma Smith Services Held
Thelma Smith, 82, of Conrad, passed away at the Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center on Saturday, November 11.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 14, at 10:30 a.m. at the Conrad United Methodist Church with Rev. David Crow officiating.
Casket bearers were Tim Friday, Verne Reece, Marvin Cohen, Kingford Albright, Ron Koch and Burl Bone.
Evelyn Davidson was the organist. Darlene Reece and Maysel Bone were in charge of the floral arrangements.
Interment was held in the Conrad Cemetery.
Thelma J. Smith, daughter of Herbert C. and Lola E. Treadway Harrison, was born in Reinbeck on November 11, 1907. She received her education in Beaman and Marshalltown schools.
On November 11, 1932, she was united in marriage to Arnold B. Smith at Elk Point, SD.
Thelma was employed as a cook at the Stone's Restaurant in Marshalltown for many years, and later worked at Bone's Cafe in Conrad. She attended the Conrad United Methodist Church.
Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, who died in June of 1985, and by her parents.
She is survived by three brothers, Russell T. Harrison, IVH, Marshalltown; Clyde B. Harrison, Cedar Rapids; and Herbert C. Harrison, of Stockton, CA; a step-sister, Patricia Haning of Bondurant; and by 16 nieces and nephews.
The Johnston Funeral Home in Conrad was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
