Rites Held For Fritz Hulseman

Fritz Hulseman, 80, of Dike passed away Tuesday, October 24, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls.

Funeral services were held at the Reformed Church of Stout on Friday, October 27, at 1:30 p.m. Pastor Don Ringnalda officiated.

Randy and Jill Konken sang "Where The Roses Never Fade," and "My God, How Wonderful Thou Art." They were accompanied by Mrs. Elaine Schnell, who also played selected numbers for the prelude and postlude.

Casket bearers were Craig Arends, Todd Brekken, Steve Dreyer, Brian Juchems, Dean Seehusen and Darwin Cannegieter.

Harm Meyer, Harvey Eiklenborg and Edwin Dreesman were ushers.

Interment was in the Stout Cemetery.

Fritz Hulseman was born September 11, 1909, in Germany, the son of Martin and Anna Speckman Hulseman. He was educated in Germany. He came to Parkersburg from Germany in 1930, and worked as a farmhand until his marriage on February 26, 1936, to Grace Wiltfang, in Parkersburg.

They began farming in the Holland area, moving three years later to the Stout area where they continued to farm for 21 years. Fritz retired from farming in 1974 and moved to Dike.

Fritz was preceded in death by his parents; a son Harold Lewis; his step-father; and one sister.

He is survived by his wife Grace, of Dike; three daughters Mrs. LaVerne (Dorothy) Seehusen, Dike, Mrs. Jay (Frances) Juchem, of Steamboat Rock, and Mrs. David (Linda) Dryer, Parkersburg; one son, Marlyn Hulseman, Cedar Falls; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The Dike Funeral Chapel was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
