Rites Held For H. Eiklenborg

Harold Eiklenborg, 66, of rural Dike, passed away Wednesday, July 26, at the Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls after suffering a heart attack at his home.

Funeral services were held at the Reformed Church of Stout on Saturday, July 29, at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Don Ringnalda officiated.

Randy Konken, Butch Stohr, Tim Schnell and Roger Meester sang "God Will Take Care Of You," and "Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus." They were accompanied by Mrs. Don Ringnalda. Mrs. Larry Wiese played selected numbers for the prelude and postlude.

Casket bearers were Randy Konken, Kenneth Eiklenborg, Kenneth Petersen, Melvin DeGroot, Keven Pruisner and Gerald Droppert.

Ushers were William Bruns, Elmer Eiklenborg, Jacobus Hemmen and Edwin Dreesman. Mrs. Alan Stohr, Mrs. Calvin Heyenga and Mrs. Don Adams were in charge of the floral arrangements.

Interment was in the Stout Cemetery.

Harold R. Eiklenborg was born August 9, 1922, on the family farm northwest of Dike in Beaver township, Grundy county. He was the son of Fred Eiklenborg, Jr. and Remka Andreessen Eiklenborg. He grew up on the family farm and attended Beaver County School #7. After his schooling, he helped his father in the farming operation.

On August 22, 1950, Harold was united in marriage to Isabelle Harberts at the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church, rural Holland. After their marriage, they farmed the family farm. Harold lived his entire life on the same farm.

He was a long time member of the Reformed Church of Stout, and had served as a Deacon and Adult Sunday School President.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Vera DeGroot.

He is survived by his wife, Isabelle, of rural Dike; four daughters, Mrs. Jerry (LuRae) Eberline, of Wellsburg, Mrs. Sheldon (DaNelle) Groote, of Fort Dodge, JoLeen Eiklenborg, Grinnell, and Mrs. Darwin (CoLeen) Pruisner, of Livonia, MI; one son, Wendell, of Florissant, MO; five grandchildren; one brother, Harvey Eiklenborg, Dike; and two sisters, Mrs. Francis (Elma) Stover, Dike, and Mrs. Marlys Konken, of Stout.

A memorial fund has been established.

The Dike Funeral Chapel was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
