Rites Held For Jake Buskohl

Jake Buskohl, 75, of Grundy Center, passed away Wednesday, October 24, at the Long Term Care Unit of the Grundy County Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services were held Saturday, October 27, at 1:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Grundy Center, with Pastor Gary Candlish officiating.

Casket bearers were Earl Slinker, Kenny Buskohl, Jim Luiken, Paul Slinker, Bernard Buskohl and Floyd Luiken.

Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Grundy Center.

Jake Edward Buskohl, son of Ben and Fannie Franken Buskohl, was born May 17, 1915, in Grundy county. He grew up and attended country school in Grundy county.

On December 22, 1939, Jake was united in marriage to Lois Pearl Slinker. To this union was born three children: Ben, Jean and Mark. Lois passed away on June 23, 1966.

Jake farmed northeast of Grundy Center until his retirement in 1974. On September 9, 1968, he was married to Marian Hohnbaum in Chippewa Falls, WI.

Jake accepted the Lord as his own personal savior on Mother's Day, 1954. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Grundy Center. Jake was Grundy County Supervisor from 1973 to 1976, and was a member of the Farm Bureau. He was a sales representative for DeKalb Seed Corn Company.

Jake was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lois and second wife Marian in 1980.

He is survived by two sons, Mark and wife Nancy of Grundy Center and Ben of Cashton, WI; one daughter Jean Buskohl, Los Angeles, CA; one step-daughter Elaine, Mrs. Milt Pueschel of Lake of the Ozarks, MO; two grandchildren Caleb and Philip; and one sister Gertie, Mrs. Harvey Getting of Grundy Center.

The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center was in charge of funeral arrangements.
