Services Held For Laura Lines

Laura Lines, 82, of Grundy Center, passed away Tuesday, August 14, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.

Funeral services were held Friday, August 17, at the First Presbyterian Church in Grundy Center at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Glenn Dieken officiating.

Casket bearers were Don Rouse, Allen Cramer, Bernard Eilderts, Marlin Klar, Lee Buseman and L. C. Pike.

Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery in Grundy Center.

Laura M. Lines, daughter of Peter and Sophia Bleeker Muhring, was born December 1, 1907. She grew up and was educated in Grundy County, graduating from Grundy Center High School in 1925. She worked for a number of years for Dr. Mol in Grundy Center.

On October 28, 1932, Laura was united in marriage to Claude Lines in Belvedere, IL.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Grundy Center. Laura enjoyed roses, traveling, fishing, listening to music and reading.

Preceding her in death were her husband Claude; her parents; one brother Harm Muhring; and five sisters, Jennie Venenga, Dena Siemsen, Grace Schmorance, Lillia Paige, and an infant sister.

Laura is survived by one son Tom and wife Francine of Cedar Falls; two grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Anna Siemsen of Grundy Center; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial fund has been established.

The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center was in charge of the arrangements.
