LEO W. DODD

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 16, at Conrad United Methodist Church in Conrad for Leo Wallace Dodd, 83, who died Saturday, Sept. 13, 1997, at Friendship Manor Care Center in Grinnell.

The Rev. Michelle Williamson and Pastor Carol Wehr officiated. Burial was in Conrad Cemetery in Conrad. Committal service was by Conrad American Legion Post #681.

Dodd was born Aug. 7, 1914, in Conrad to John P. and Grace A. (Jones) Dodd. He graduated from Conrad High School in 1932. He served in the Navy in New Guinea and the Philippines.

He married Katherine Lucille Clay on June 15, 1939, in Conrad. He worked as postmaster for the Conrad Post Office until he retired in 1972.

He was a member of the Conrad American Legion Post #681, Conrad Lions Club and the Conrad United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Glen Dodd and Byrl Dodd.

Survivors include his wife, Katherine, Grinnell; three sons, Jim Dodd, Sugar Grove, Ill., Gerald Dodd, Brooklyn, Jon Dodd, Bangkok, Thailand; a daughter, Susan Tarakemeh, Centerville, Va.; a brother, Lyle Dodd, Davenport; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
