Mrs. Ralph Heerts Died Tuesday
Mrs. Ralph Heerts, 59, died suddenly about 3 a.m. Tuesday morning from a coronary at her farm home northwest of Grundy Center. She had been in poor health recently, but was able to be in town the day before her death.
Funeral services will be Friday, June 3, at 2 p.m. in the First Presbyterian church in Grundy Center. Rev. Duane Heap will officiate. The body is at the Ferree funeral home.
Jennie Kruse, daughter of A. J. and Anna Kruse, was born August 22, 1906, in Colfax township. She was married to Ralph Heerts, Jan. 1, 1926, at the Colfax Presbyterian church. The couple has spent all of their married life on the farm in Colfax township, with the exception of a short time when they lived in Grundy Center.
Mrs. Heerts was a member of the First Presbyterian church and had been active in the Women's association.
The deceased is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. LeRoy (Wilma) Gunnarson of Waukegan, Ill., and Mrs. Maurell (Rilla Jo) Pabst of Grundy Center, three grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Tena Knock and Mrs. Asa Slifer of Wellsburg, Mrs. John Heerts, Holland, and Mrs. Marcus D. Meyer, Grundy Center. Three brothers died in childhood.
