Services Saturday For Mrs. Hasbrouck

Mrs. Ernest W. Hasbrouck died last Wednesday in the Grundy hospital, where she had been a patient about a week. Death followed a heart attack. She was 84 years old.

The body was taken to the Ferree funeral home for funeral arrangements. Services were at the funeral home Saturday afternoon. The service was conducted by Rev. Richard Johnson and Rev. J. C. Ford. Burial was in the Grundy Center cemetery.

Mrs. Hasbrouck was born in Scott county, Nov. 11, 1881. Her maiden name was Emma Beyer. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William C. Beyer. She moved to the Grundy area with her parents when she was a small child and resided here up to the time of her death.

Emma Beyer and Ernest W. Hasbrouck were married in Grundy Center, March 15, 1900. They resided in the Grundy Center area during all of their married life. Most of those years they resided in Grundy Center. The husband died January 26 of last year. He was an invalid and was confined several years in a wheelchair and his wife was constantly by his side and took care of him.

Surviving her are three daughters and one son. The daughters are Miss Beulah Hasbrouck and Mrs. William Koobs, Grundy Center, and Mrs. Lavine Koobs, Waterloo. The son Marlyn resides at New Hartford. One daughter, Marie, and one son, Guy, preceded their mother in death. There are ten surviving grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Other surviving members of her family are two sisters, Mrs. Ralph Smith of Reinbeck and Adelia Woodmency, Gladbrook.

Also preceding her in death besides her husband and two children, were three brothers and two sisters.
