Harry Eggleston Services Monday

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the Methodist church at Whitten for Harry Eggleston who died last Friday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Carl Callaway, near Whitten. The services were conducted by Rev. Robert Winter, pastor of the Methodist church at Whitten. Burial was in the Benson cemetery. He was 76 years old.

He was born Sept. 3, 1889, at Geneva, a son of Thomas B. and Alice Cheesman Eggleston. He moved with his parents to the Whitten community when he was an infant. He attended school here and at the New Providence Academy.

He spent all his life in the Whitten community with the exception of 1930 to 1939 when he farmed near Herman, Minn.

Survivors include four daughters: Mrs. Lawrence (Helen) Bavender, Iowa Falls; Mrs. Carl J. (Margaret) Callaway, Eldora, Mrs. Virgil D. (Avis) Dawson, Steamboat Rock; and Mrs. Doris Rowen, Chatfield, Minn.; a son, Lawrence Richard Eggleston, Minneapolis, Minn.; 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1953, a brother, one sister and an infant daughter.
