Mrs. Lucinda Mast Lifelong Resident Of Co., Is Dead

Mrs. Lucinda Mast, 94, a lifelong resident of Grundy county, died at 11 a.m. Thursday at Countryside Nursing Home in Grundy Center. Death was due to complications of her advanced age.

Mrs. Mast had resided at the nursing home since April 17, 1963.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Conrad Presbyterian church, with Rev. Donald Shaw officiating. Burial was in the Grundy Center cemetery.

Special music for the service was provided by soloist Russell Kruse and organist Mrs. Don Martin.

Casketbearers were George, Kenneth and Harold Bienfang and Dale, Lloyd and Earl Mast. Flower attendants were Jean Ewoldt, Joyce Hughes, Wanda Snyder and June Dreesman.

Lucinda Bockes was born May 19, 1871 in Grundy Center, the daughter of Henry and Mary Bockes.

She married Jeramiah Mast on July 4, 1889 at Liscomb. The couple lived on a farm south of Grundy Center for many years, and moved to Conrad in 1918. Mr. Mast passed away in November, 1923.

Mrs. Mast was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Conrad.

Survivors include two sons, Henry of Beaman and Ralph who is a resident of Countryside Nursing Home; two daughters, Mrs. Wilford (May) Bienfang of Waterloo and Mrs. Orville (Ethel) Kell of Conrad; 25 grandchildren, 75 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

Also surviving is one sister, Mrs. Edith Johnson of Grundy Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons and three daughters.
